Özet

The objectives of this study were to evaluate possible effects of leading global tendencies and factors on agriculture, and to set forth new developments on agricultural machinery manufacturing sector with a mechanization focused point of view on agricultural production that shall be reshaped in line with these tendencies. New concepts, conditions and developments that shall structure agricultural production in the globalization process, which have gained momentum in the beginning of 21(st) century, profoundly affect agricultural machinery Industry, forming a bridge between agricultural and industry sectors. In this study, effects of globalization on world agriculture sector were evaluated in terms of agricultural production, income, sectoral structure, rural population and level of and export. By evaluating global agricultural machinery manufacturing industry, technological tendencies, driving forces and objectives in the sector were put forward. The most important result of the study was the requirement to improve the efficiency to ensure sustainability in agriculture against increasingly narrowing environmental limits and continuously increasing climate change pressure as well as continuously increasing food and energy requirement in global competitive environment. To be able to improve overall efficiency, input effectiveness has to be developed; this shall only be ensured by starting to use modern manufacturing technologies and using mechanization equipments, complying with these technologies.
