Özet

© 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V.This study describes the geochemical characteristics of the metals and the environmental pollution of sediments of upstream in Ulutaş Erzurum, Turkey. Stream sediment samples were taken from 93 sites. The majority of samples showed high Ag, As, Au, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb and Zn concentrations and were the major pollutants in the study area. Analytical data were evaluated by statical methods. The total variance of the three factors obtained from the data was determined as 55.66%. Associated elements are as follows: Ag–Cu–Mn–Mo–S–Se–Zn, As–Pb–Sb and Cr–Ni–W. Factor 1 is close to mineralization and shows mechanical enrichment (Ag, Cu, Mn, Mo, S, Se and Zn). Factor 2 (As, Pb, Sb and Bi) probably indicates hydromorphic transport with water solutions. Factor 3 (Au, Cr, W and Ni) indicates that granodioritic rocks are weathered and associated with these rocks. Statistical analyzes were made to determine the concentration values and distribution of the elements in the studied stream sediments. Ag, As, Au, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Pb, Sb and Zn elements show the anomaly distributions in the study area. The anomalies seen especially for Ag, As, Fe, Mn and Pb elements show very high anomaly with a strong contrast to other areas.
