Abstract

Schiff base ligand N,N'-bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphtaldehydene)-1,4-bis(o-amino phenilthio)butane (L) derived from 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and 1,4-bis(o-amino thiophenol)butane was synthesized and characterized by FTIR-ATR, H-1 NMR, MS, TGA/DTA, elemental analysis, UV-Vis Spectroscopy. The reactions of the ligand with different transition metal(11) salts under reflux system condition afforded a series of metal complexes such as Cu(II), Co(III), Ni(II), Pd(II). Palladium-catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling reactions employing Schiff-base as ligand toward a various of substituted arylbromides and boronic acids were pursued. The conversions obtained and yields with different arylbromides were calculated and summarized.
