Art education in architecture plays a significant role in the development of students' design and aesthetic perspectives, allowing them to develop creative and functional approaches both during their education and throughout their professional careers. The relationship between architecture and art encompasses both technical and aesthetic knowledge. One of the best ways to acquire and evaluate this knowledge is through the examination of curricula. In this study, the curriculum of the Department of Architecture at Yozgat Bozok University is analyzed, focusing on the status of art courses within the compulsory-elective course structure and the content of these courses. In this context, the place of art education in the architecture education process, the teaching methods and techniques of the courses, and the content of the art courses are analyzed, revealing the strengths and weaknesses of the art education provided by the Department of Architecture at Yozgat Bozok University. All necessary data for the study were obtained through a literature review using electronic and written sources, and the data were analyzed using content analysis and converted into numerical form. The numerical results were analyzed using Excel software. Through this study, the balance and content of art courses between compulsory and elective categories are evaluated, and recommendations for the educational system are provided. Ensuring a balanced distribution of art education across compulsory and elective courses will help maintain the quality of education at an optimum level. Conducting such an analysis will shed light on educational policies and curriculum development processes, contributing to the creation of a more effective structure in architectural education.
