The Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) was a secret organization aimed to dethrone Sultan Abdulhamid II and combine all Ottoman nations around the constitution. The CUP, which was founded in 1889 had the thought of collaborating with the Armenian opposition, which had turned to an armed movement in 1882. When the Armenian opposition reached its peak in Ottoman Empire, Ahmet Riza began to publish a newspaper called Mesveret in Paris, in 1895. This article aims to evaluate how Mesveret considered and reflected news related to the Armenian question as the publication organ of CUP which collaborated with the Armenian committees against Sultan Abdulhamid II.
