VII.Congress of Balkan Association of Orthodontic Specialists XVII.International Symposium of Turkish Orthodontic Society, İstanbul, Türkiye, 27 - 30 Ekim 2023, ss.337, (Özet Bildiri)
AIM: The aim of the study is to evaluate the consumption of beverages that may cause coloration with
a plate, on the coloring of the attachments applied using different composites.
MATERIAL-METHOD: Standard size vertical rectangular attachments consisting of two different
composites were placed on 60 cattle teeth. The samples were divided into two equal groups, with and
without plaque (n=30). All samples were kept in coffee solution for coloration. Standard photographs of
the samples were taken before (T0) and after coloration (T1) with the cross-polarization method using a
white balance card. L*a*b color values ??of the attachments before and after coloring were determined
with the help of a computer program and the color change was calculated. The obtained color change
was used for statistical evaluation.
RESULTS: As a result of statistical evaluation, significant differences were observed between the groups.
CONCLUSION: Consuming beverages that may cause discoloration with plaque may reduce attachment
discoloration.
