4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCES IN NATURAL & APPLIED SCIENCE AGRICULTURE, Ağrı, Türkiye, 19 - 22 Haziran 2019, ss.257
Present study was carried out to determine the chemical composition, relative feed value (RFV), net energy lactation (NEL) and metabolic energy (ME) contents of the annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.). Annual ryegrass grown in a private family farm in Hürrempalangası village of Erzincan Province was used as a research material. The Annual ryegrass was harvested twice during the experimental period. In each harvest, the RFV of the annual ryegrass was calculated by using the chemical composition, the dry matter digestibility (DMD) and dry matter consumption (DMC) parameters. At the same time, NEL and ME contents were calculated using the nutrient composition of the annual ryegrass.
In the first and second harvest, the average crude protein ratios, RFV, NEL and ME contents of the annual ryegrass were 12,74% and 18,72; 111, 56 and 98,79; 1593,9 and 1589,4 Kcal; 2352,2 and 2345,5 Kcal, respectively. Although there was no difference between the first and second harvest in terms of NEL and ME contents, the difference in the relative feed values was found significant (p<0.01) in favor of the first harvest. In conclusion, results from the present study showed that it had a high potential as forage source and may be used in ruminant rations when Erzincan Province climate, the chemical composition and RFV parameters of annual ryegrass were considered.
