Especially in recent years, and with the impact of the pandemic, individuals have been largely continuing
their lives online. While this has made life easier in many ways, it has also led to the emergence of new
threats such as digital violence. Digital violence consists of harmful behaviors such as an individual or
group using technology to target another individual or group, threaten, intimidate, humiliate, manipulate,
control, expose them to hate speech, damage their reputation, and so on. Spying on a person through
smartphone apps, secretly recording audio or video, disclosing conversations, threatening to share nude
photos with others, persistently sending messages, insulting them on social media, threatening to share
personal information, or sharing personal information are all acts of digital violence. Due to these actions,
the widespread use of digitalization, especially among young people, has led to the emergence of serious
psychological and social problems. Therefore, strategies have had to be developed to control and prevent
digital violence, both individually and within the framework of legal regulations. This study evaluates the
effects of digital violence on individuals through academic literature and offers recommendations for
preventing such problems and protecting victims. The study focuses on the necessary precautions and
awareness-raising strategies to ensure a safe environment in the digital world.
