Özet

In line with the rapid growth of artificial intelligence, which profoundly influences each area of knowledge, language education is also experiencing different dynamics introduced by transformative technologies. Not only does the emergence of machine learning, cloud technologies, and adaptive language learning systems, but also speech recognition, machine translation, question processing, semantic understanding, assessment of automation, and recognizing handwriting tools designed for English raise serious discussions about the role of language educators now and in the future1. Despite the vast number of writing activities, journeys, and components shared by different educational platforms or the educational content designed for teaching language skills, language learners need skillful language educators to guide, motivate, assess, and encourage them. Mixing the nature of the learning activity with an educator's ambition, ethics, and values makes a difference for the students on their journey. This study is significant in terms of adding original and updated qualitative and quantitative enhancement to the growing body of research on writing activities used in the English Language Program within the field of language education, with the era of artificial intelligence and the opinions of language learners and educators on the impact of these activities. The sample group of the study consists of 47 English teacher candidates enrolled in the English Language Teaching Department at a state university in Turkey, varying from the first year to the last one. The data were collected using closed-ended item questionnaires and essay implementation analysis. The data were then coded and evaluated in line with the parameters set in the study. The results of this study revealed that writing activities have the greatest impact on language learners by enhancing language awareness and maintaining their motivation in the English language learning process.
