(Summary) This book tries to reveal the effects of TÜSİAD in the making of public policies in Turkey.
"...Although crises may seem paradoxical, their results have not always been negative, but they have also had the quality of initiating changes..." What is meant here is not that changes come only through crises. Social or economic developments can also initiate changes. In this respect, it is not a coincidence that the establishment of TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association) coincided with a year full of crises, such as 1971. In addition to being a business people-based non-governmental organization, TÜSİAD carries out studies on behalf of Türkiye during the European Union process. In this context; It makes statements about Turkey's current situation and development line through the reports it prepares, the journals it publishes, the conferences and workshops it organizes, public announcements and other communication channels. In particular, the reports prepared and published annually by experts in their fields contain very detailed information about the agenda of Turkey and the world. However, the reform steps or system changes suggested in TÜSİAD reports regarding public policies are largely accepted by the state, and a significant part of these suggestions are implemented in the form of public policy. In other words, TÜSİAD is positioned as a decision maker in the making of public policies in Turkey.
