The main aim of this study is to shed a light on the meaning, importance and the
methods of critical reading. The meaning of critical reading can be explained
as follows. Critical reading is to think about the text which is read and to comment
on the topic. The pros of critical reading can only be understood by compairing the
advantages of critical reading with the traditional reading methods.
As a matter of fact a feasibility survey which was done by Danish Technological
Institude shows that the result are mostly higher than expected when people evaluate
themselves (Henrik and Martin, 2006). In order to get rid of this weakness in the study
which was done, another survey . It is appraisable that in the future studies, a training
should be given on the topic not only to the students but also to the lecturers.
