Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in the Context of the Knowledge Economy and Digitalization, Yusuf Esmer,Oğuzhan Aytar, Editör, NOVA Science Publishers Inc. , New York, ss.51-59, 2025
This chapter explores the
under-researched interplay between Big Data (BD) and entrepreneurship in the
context of digitalization. Digitalization has been the most significant driver
and facilitator of change in the business ecosystem, and entrepreneurs are both
affected by and contributing to this change. Even though it presents some
challenges for entrepreneurs, digitalization is both the enabler and
facilitator of entrepreneurial activities, and has a crucial role in the formation
and survival of new businesses. Powerful technologies
offered by digitalization have opened new avenues for entrepreneurs. Nevertheless,
the advent of these technologies has also brought with it a number of potential
challenges and problems. This chapter is the result of a comprehensive
literature review to explain and discuss the concepts of digitalization, big
data, entrepreneurship and their relation to one another. We provide a general
outlook in to these three concepts and the interplay between them and go on to
details with each concept explaining their relationship to entrepreneurship in
relation to the potentials and challenges. More specifically, we explain the
concept of digitalization and digital entrepreneurship, big data and it is
powerful partner artificial intelligence in relation to the entrepreneurial
context. This chapter sets out to provide an account of the ways in which
digitalization and big data can assist entrepreneurs in pursuing
entrepreneurial activities and to identify the areas in which they should be
aware. The chapter ends with concluding remarks where we present and overview
of the entire chapter.
