Abstract

Artova ophiolite complex is located along the North western and east margin in Yozgat (Turkey). The Mn-deposits in the Derbent and Eymir areas are part of this ophiolite complex. These deposits, both banded and lenticular forms, are hosted by radiolarite and are generally overlying volcanics. Braunite, jacopsite, psilomelane and goethite are main constituents of the manganese ores in Eymir (Sorgun-Yozgat) and manyetite, manganite, pyrolusite and goethite are main constituents of the manganese ores in Derbent (Mahkeme hill-Yozgat) areas. The gang mineral in Eymir is just quartz, whereas the gang minerals in Derbent are quartz and calcite.
