In this study, Fe + 2% Cu + %0,5 C P/M steel was used. Mechanical test pieces were machined from the sintered blanks. Mechanical properties of the as received blanks were determined. One group fatigue samples are tested on the fatigue test machine Then other fatigue samples were shot peened to 0.20mm A, 0.25mm A, 0.25mm A %200, and 0.35mm A peening intensities. Fatigue testing was carried out by using a rotating cantilever (Wöhler) type fatigue test machine. All shot peening intensities produced a pronounced effect on the fatigue life of the powder metal steel investigated. Aproximately 30-35% increases were determined on the fatigue life of the powder metalurgy steel. Microstructural examinations of the material were also carried out.
