Özet

It is a well-known phenomenon in which morality imposes itself on people as a sanctioning power. The fact that people encounter certain reactions or inner distress or uneasiness when they do morally wrong confirms that morality has a sanctioning power. It can be said that moral sanction derives its power from objective and necessary moral values and obligations. This paper is dealed with the questions of whether there is a relationship between moral obligations and sanction, what is the ground of the binding nature of morality, whether it requires a sanction, if so, how morality can be subject to sanction, and what the source of moral sanction can be. In this context, it is considered whether a relationship can be established between morality, sanction, and God within the framework of moral realism and, accordingly, argued that moral sanction can be based on God.
