Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of CBD injection on breast cancer MDAMB-

231 type cells on cell proliferation and cell survival.

MDA-MB-231 cells were obtained from the Public University Genome and Stem Cell

Institute. CBD was obtained from Yozgat Bozok University Hemp Research Institute. CBD

was dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Cell cultures were injected with CBD

concentrations of 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 μM. The toxic effect of DMSO on cells in which it

was injected in pure form was found to be limited. CBD slowed down the division and

proliferation by acting on MDA-MB-231 type cells. The most effective dose was determined

to be 10 μM CBD concentration. As a result, CBD slowed down the cell cycle by acting on

MDA-MB-231 type cells. According to this study, it can be recommended to investigate CBD

concentrations between 6-24 μM in animal experiments.
