Özet

The fact that animal protein, which is a must for human nutrition, is inexpensive and accessible is important for societies to be balanced and adequate nutrition. Today, with the serious increase in the world population, limited resources are rapidly depleted and varieties are declining. It is stated that if alternative sources are not found, there will be major environmental problems. The importance of animal husbandry in agriculture is increasing day by day because it provides a regular and good income to producers and a high quality protein source to consumers. It is inevitable that changing climatic conditions and global warming will have serious effects on animal production systems around the world, and the sustainability of animal production is an important issue that needs to be emphasized. Besides the existence of these sources, it is also important that they are reliable. Food borne diseases and the fact that a part of food production is below quality and safety standards, has increased the sensitivity of consumers on food consumption in recent years. Due to the development of the food industry depending on consumer demand, it is important to increase scientific research on food safety. Food ethics: “food science, technology and applications; to search for, find, systematize and put at the service of people values that will be accepted as true” can be explained. Due to the long process between production and consumption, it is seen that consumers can be more decisive in choosing their food only from an ethical point of view. Ensuring food safety in the process from the farm/field to table can be possible with ethical value awareness and this awareness covers all stages from production to consumption. Ensuring food safety in the process from the farm/field to table can be possible with ethical value awareness and this awareness covers all stages from production to consumption. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the current developments by examining the issue of sustainable animal production and food ethics.
