Biography

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Aliya MUTALLIMOVA (SHARAFULLINA)

Aliya Mutallimova was born in 1990 in the Republic of Tatarstan, an autonomous region of Russia. She completed her primary, middle, and high school education at Aksu Secondary School, graduating in 2006. In the same year, she was admitted to the Faculty of Theology at the Russian Islamic University. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she successfully passed the Master’s entrance exam and moved to Turkey in 2010. After a year of Turkish language preparation, Mutallimova enrolled in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, History of Religions Division, at the Institute of Social Sciences, Bursa Uludağ University, where she pursued her Master’s degree. Her Master's thesis, titled “Belief Principles in Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism”, was successfully completed in 2013. She subsequently began her Ph.D. studies in the same department, completing her doctorate in 2017 with a dissertation entitled “Christianized Turks: The Krashens-Tatars.” In 2018, Dr. Mutallimova joined the Faculty of Theology at Yozgat Bozok University as an Assistant Professor and has since been serving as a faculty member in the Division of Religious Studies. She is married and the mother of one daughter. Dr. Mutallimova is fluent in Tatar, Russian, and Turkish.
